For those that have some space problems, there's a tool called ubuntu tweak (http://blog.ubuntu-tweak.com)

To purge apt cache :

sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get clean

Empty trash :

rm -r -f ~/.local/share/Trash/files/*

To remove some unused configuration files, try :

sudo dpkg --purge $(COLUMNS=200 dpkg -l | grep "^rc" | tr -s ' ' | cut -d ' ' -f 2)
